Personal information
Beryl Mitchell Rawlings later told his family how he woke up in the water after USS Leary had been torpedoed and found something to float on with one other sailor. This happened to be someone he did not like and had a bone sticking out his leg. However, they rubbed each others leg to stay warm until being rescued.
