Personal information
Son of Roy Ansel and Winnifred Viola Barrows, of Wakefield, MA. Charles J. Barrows was seriously injured during the sinking of Raphael Semmes and taken to Marine Hospital at Stapleton, Staten Island, New York after being landed in Jersey City on 18 July 1942. He married Arlene Joyce Turrill on 7 September 1942.
