Son of Wywzyniec Lawrence and Michalina Lena Walczak, of Cleveland, OH. He had served in the US Army from 16 April 1918 to 12 May 1919. Sent overseas as Private in Company D, 129th Machine Gun Battalion and took part in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
