Notes on event

At 22.50 hours on 21 Sep 1941 the Runa (Master Hugh McLarty) in convoy OG-74 was torpedoed and sunk by U-201 north-northeast of the Azores. Twelve crew members and two gunners were lost. The master, seven crew members and one gunner were picked up by HMS Deptford (L 53) (LtCdr H.R. White, RN) and landed at Gibraltar.
