The John Holt (Master Cecil Gordon Hime) was the ship of convoy commodore Cdr A. MacRae, DSC, RNR. The master, the commodore, five naval staff members, 45 crew members, seven gunners and nine passengers were picked up by HMS Gorleston (Y 92) (Cdr R.W. Keymer, (retired), RN) and landed at Ponta Delgada, Azores. One gunner was lost.
