At 15.58 hours on 27 June 1944 U-19 attacked a Soviet tug convoy with torpedoes and sank the barge Barzha (No 75) (approx. 1000 tons) about 10 miles northwest of Tuapse. It was one of two empty barges towed by the Soviet tug Vezhilov, escorted by six MO type patrol craft and three MBR-2 flying boats.
