Notes on event

On 13 October 1942 the Bringhi arrived off Alexandria after being machine-gunned by a U-boat and was put on a reef outside of the harbor, where it sank after breaking up. The survivors of U-559 claimed the sinking of two sailing vessels during the last patrol of the U-boat.
