Completed as merchantile ferry Hampton Ferry in November 1934
Requisitioned by the Admiralty on 24 August 1939.
Displacement: 2839 tons.
Lenght: 347 feet
Machinery: 4 boilers, two shafts, Parsons turbines, SHP 4800 = 16.5 knots.
Armament: 1 4" AA gun, 2 .303" AA (2x1), 270 mines.

To the Ministery of War Transport (MoWT) in 1940.
