Sunk by Japanese warships off Samar on 25 October 1944 in position 11º46'N, 126º33'E. 252 of her crew were lost and only 88 were rescued by the USS LCI 74/337/340/341; PC 623/1119.All were wounded/injured and these include the Commanding Officer Cdr. Kintberger and Cdr. W.D. Thomas commanding Destroyer Division 93 who was aboard as well.
