Heavily damaged by 5 Japanese kamikaze aircraft on 6 April 1945 off Okinawa, 43 of her crew were lost and the Commanding officer Commander Ira Ellis Mcmillan was amongst those wounded.
Decommissioned 20 November 1945.
Stricken 28 March 1946.
Scraped in 1947.
