History | The ship was designated for service in the Pacific in 1945 but arrived in that theatre too late to see active combat. Transported former Japanese POW's home immediately postwar. Decommission for a refit in October 1947. Saw extensive service during Korean conflict but never underwent significant updating. Sold and scrapped at Inverkeiting starting in August 1961. |
