Decommissioned and struck from the Naval Register and sold to Canada on 2 December 1968, renamed HMCS Rainbow (SS-75). Decommissioned by the Royal Canadian Navy on 31 December 1974. Sold for scrapping on 24 March 1977, to Zidell Ship Dismantlers, Portland, OR, U.S.A.
