Fate Launched as the French submarine La Favorite in September 1938. Taken as a German prize at the dockyard in June 1940.

Renamed in UF-2 on 13 May, 1941. Commissioned into the German Navy on 5 Nov, 1942.
Out of service on 5 Jul, 1944. Scuttled at Gotenhafen in 1945.

Other French submarines in German hands

UF-1 (built as the French submarine L'Africaine) was also taken as a German prize at the dockyard in June, 1940. She was given the name UF-1 on 13 May, 1941 but never completed in German occupation of France. She was finally launched on 7 Dec, 1946. Served as the L'Africaine from October 1949. Taken out of service in 1961. Striken 28 Feb, 1963 as the Q334.

UF-3 (built as the French submarine L'Astrée) was also taken as a German prize at the dockyard in June, 1940. She was given the name UF-3 on 13 May, 1941 but never completed in German occupation of France. She was never operational in German service. Returned to the dockyard in 1946. Served as the L'Astrée from October 1949. Taken out of service in 1962. Striken 27 Nov, 1965 as the Q404.
