Emblem entry for U-201

The Snowman - U-201

This boat became famous while under the command of Kptlt. Adalbert Schnee. Schnee means "snow" in German, and thus the snowman was a natural choice for the boat's emblem. When OL Schnee received his Knights Cross in August 1941, the Snowman on the conning tower of course got one as well, as seen here on the left.

U-201 also displayed the crest of the German town of Remscheid.
