U-boat attacks on Sailing vessel Argos
|1||15 Feb 1917||UC 66 (Herbert Pustkuchen)||Sunk||Biscay SW of Sables d’Olonne||46° 19'N, 1° 59'W||Fishing||0|
|Argos, master Chaillou, had just started fishing when shells fired by a submarine 500m away, surrounded the sloop. The fishermen evacuated hastily and as they were boarding a boat, a direct hit made the Argos sink almost immediately. The 5 men then pulled for the coast where they landed safely.
