History

The 11th Flotilla was founded on 15 May, 1942 under the command of Korvkpt Hans Cohausz. From her base the flotilla boats mostly operated in the North Sea and against the PQ-convoys. In September 1944 the Flotilla was reorganized, when most of the boats from the French bases reached Norway. The first XXI boat U-2511, which went out on patrol, was attached to this Flotilla. The Flotilla's history ended in May, 1945 when Germany surrendered.
