Lembit was commissioned in the Estonian Navy on 14 April 1937 but taken over by the Soviets on 19 August 1940.

Lembit is preserved as a museum.

Lembit lays mines west of Bornholm.

5 Nov 1941
Lembit lays mines in the Bj?rk? Sound. Some Finnish ships were later damaged near this area but this had most likely nothing to do with the mines laid by Lembit.

26 Feb 1942
The Swedish ferry Starke (2459 GRT) is mined and damaged west of Bornholm in position 54°35'N, 13°45'E. She may have hit a mine laid by Lembit on 17 August 1941.

30 May 1942
The German merchant Orkan (1905 GRT) is mined and sunk off Swinem?nde in position 54°11'N, 14°07'E. She may have hit a mine laid by Lembit on 17 August 1941 but more likely the mine was dropped by the RAF.

13 Jul 1942
The German merchant Kathe O (1854 GRT, built 1903, former Latvian Ausma) is mined and damaged west of Bornholm in position 54°36'N, 13°46'E. She may have hit a mine laid by Lembit on 17 August 1941.

4 Sep 1942
Lembit fires two torpedoes against ' what is identified as ' a merchant of 8000 tons in a convoy about 15 nautical miles south-west of Ut?, Finland. The torpedoes missed their target.

13 Sep 1942
Lembit fires two torpedoes against ' what is identified as ' a merchant in a convoy off Ut?, Finland. The torpedoes missed their target.

14 Sep 1942
Lembit torpedoed and damaged the German merchant Finnland (5281 GRT) in the Baltic in position 59°36'N, 21°12'E.

11 Oct 1944
Lembit lays mines between Kolberg and Stolpm?nde.

13 Oct 1944
At 0218 hours Lembit fires two torpedoes against ' what is identified as ' a merchant of 5000 tons. These torpedoes missed their target.

Just 8 minutes later, at 0226 hours, Lembit fires her remaining two torpedoes in the tubes against the German merchant Hilma Lau (2414 GRT). Sinking her north-east of Bornholm in position 55°20'N, 15°20'E.

15 Oct 1944
At 0100 hours Lembit fires a torpedo against ' what is identified as ' a auxiliary minesweeper. This torpedo missed its target.

Just 5 minutes later, at 0105 hours, Lembit fired another torpedo. The torpedo hit and sank the German auxiliary minesweeper M 3619 / Crabeels (150 GRT) off Rixh?ft.

23 Oct 1944
The German harbour tug Pionier 5 went missing off Swinem?nde this day. She most likely hit a mine laid by Lembit on 11 October 1944.

24 Nov 1944
The German auxiliary patrol vessel V 305 / Halberstadt (305 GRT) is damaged when she hits a mine off Stolpm?nde in position 54°36'N, 16°52'E. The mine was laid by Lembit on 11 October 1944.

The German fishing vessel Spreeufer (216 GRT) is sunk when she hits a mine north-east of Kolberg in position 54°27'N, 15°45'E. The mine was laid by Lembit on 11 October 1944.

Lembit lays mines off Br?sterort.

At 0915 hours Lembit fires two torpedoes against ' what is identified as ' a merchant of 6000 tons north-east of Danzig bay in position 55°12'N, 19°55'E. Both torpedoes missed their target.

13 Feb 1945
The German minesweeper M 421 (543 tons) is sunk when she hits a mine north of Kolberg in position 54°25'N, 15°25'E. The mine was laid by Lembit on 11 October 1944.

30 Mar 1945
Lembit lays mines of Wladyslawowo.

25 Apr 1945
The German auxiliary patrol vessel Vs 343 sank after hitting a mine a mine north-west of Wladyslawowo in position 54°55'N 18°20'E. The mine was laid by Lembit on 30 March 1945.
